I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have over nine years of nursing experience in acute care settings specializing in geriatric medicine and hematology-oncology. In 2019, I graduated from Frontier Nursing University and have worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner within the palliative-oncology and public health settings. Before nursing, my passion for public health led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and a Master of Science in Public Health. I spent five years working at US Food and Drug Administration both as a civilian and as an officer with the US Public Health Service.
I use research and evidence to guide my clinical decisions and always approach treatment through an integrative medicine lens. My goal is to use individually targeted supplementation and dietary changes whenever possible to promote brain health and healing. I also understand there is a time and place for pharmaceutical therapies. I believe that good nutrition, movement, mindfulness, detoxification, hormone balancing and supportive relationships are crucial components of healing. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and I collaborate with each individual to find a treatment plan that works for them.
I utilize the Walsh Approach to diagnose and treat nutrient imbalances. This approach recognizes that nutrient imbalances can alter brain levels of key neurotransmitters that may have effects on mental health such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, post-partum depression, and autism. Each client is treated individually based on their biochemical and genetic individuality. The approach includes identifying methylation and copper/zinc imbalances, pyrrole disorder, glucose imbalances, environmental toxicities and gut malabsorption.
Research continues to reveal gut health has direct effects on digestion, weight, energy, and immunity. The gut-brain connection is a vital component in supporting your mental and physical health. By reprograming the gut microbiome through specific diet, lifestyle, and medicinal interventions we are able to restore gut health.
I utilize a range of assessment tools to assist the client in making dietary changes that support their lifestyle. There is no one size fits all approach. Dietary plans I often recommend include paleo, Wahl's, Autoimmune Protocol, carbohydrate restriction, and ketogenic diets. In addition, I have received specialized training in medically supervised ketogenic diet therapy. I also offer nutrigenomics testing to speed-track treatment recommendations based on the client's unique genetic markers.
